On October 17th, 2024, I did my second stamp exhibit and PowerPoint presentation for a group called “The Teachers Club of Montclair”. They are a group of retired teachers and others from the education field. My first one was last year. I guess I did ok since they invited me back. The theme this year was “October is Stamp Collecting Msonth. I opened with the history of stamp collecting, the process of stamps being issued and how a person can be on a stamp.  I discussed how stamps can be used in the classroom and the education system as a whole. Students can learn science, learn different cultures, geography, math, nature, people, places etc. Boys Scouts use stamp to receive badges. On display were stamps about social justice, women on stamps, African Americans on stamps, science, Hispanic Heritage Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, music and musicians, Helen Keller stamp with a special Cachet (envelope with stamp and artwork on it) with braille on the envelope. I also had frame group of hand painted Cachets. I spoke about some new stamps that just recently came out and showed other stamps that came out 2024. The most recent stamps include: Hanukkah, Christmas and other holiday stamps, Kwanzaa, and Thank You Healthcare Community. My presentation and exhibit was well received. All posters on exhibit were created by me. I have created over 60 posters over the years. Most are was created for my exhibits and some posters are for sale. I would like to thank, The Teachers Club of Montclair for inviting me back. By Clarence McKnight
